It has been suggested that I write a weekly blog. I have been told that it will assist me in developing skills beneficial to my current pursuits. Although I appreciate the advice–I am baffled as to what I could say that would be worthy of a blog and the interest of others. Although I treasure the right to freedom of expression that citizens of this country enjoy, it does not mean that all thoughts and ideas are necessarily worthy of experssion.

Like other individuals, I try to stay informed and develop opinions that I hope are reasoned. However, I do not think my opinions of more merit than  others and they would definitely be worth less than many. What is the purpose of these words that appear in this space?

I am pleased that I have the right to write, and present my views to anyone who wishes to see them. But in exercising this individual right is it not also necessary for me to exercise my individual responsibility?  Will my views and words cause offense and if they do is that offesne warranted or is it just to prove the fact that I have the right.

And so I write, to subject others to my musings so that I may improve my own skills. Even this subjection seems individually irresponsible. But, neverthless, I begin.
